Day 7 of Magpie Tarot's 30 Days
Day 7 of #MagpieTarots30Days Today we begin to look at different aspects of ourselves starting with the idea of duality. They say there can be no good without evil, day without night, dark without light. And from a ‘perspective’ perspective it makes sense that without knowledge of one there can be no concept or understanding of the other. What is Up if there’s no Down? They need each other. In the realm of our human experience, Duality is just part of who we are. No one is wholly ‘good’ or ‘bad’ because we don’t exist in extremes like that. And in order to flourish we must strive for a place where all sides of ourselves can coexist. Day 7 takes a look at some of the areas where we might struggle to find that middle place. Where we might want to pull up on one rein while easing up on the other, seeking steadiness. We don't all struggle with the same things, so today I offer a few ‘dueling pairs’ to choose from to get started. These are areas we might find difficult to keep in balance, one often seeming to win out over the other. Feel free to come up with your own - no one quite knows our struggles the way we ourselves do. Pick 3 of these areas where we might experience duality - choose the ones you feel are most out of balance for you and in need of direction. Write them down and label them Area 1, Area 2 and Area 3. Shuffle and lay out your cards. Cards 1 & 4 are read for Area 1 Cards 2 & 5 are read for Area 2 Cards 3 & 6 are read for Area 3 The cards on the left suggest where you might need to tighten the reins; where you're encouraged to show a little more strength, restraint and resiliency in order to achieve balance. The cards on the right are where you need to loosen up and let go, even just a bit. Where you’re holding on too tightly and attempts at heavy-handed control are backfiring. Card 7 is your greatest strength and your best tool for finding balance. I’m pretty excited about this one - let me know what you think if you give it a try!
